King of Jeshurun Devotions on Gen 1:4
Christmas is separation of light from darkness. |
"And God separated the light from the darkness"
"vai·yav·del e·lo·him, bein ha·'o·vr u·vein ha·cho·shech" -(Hebrew OT: Westminster Leningrad Codex Transliterated).
God saw the light was good and not the darkness.Darkness was not good and God separated the light from darkness.
When man believes in LORD Jesus Christ and the gospel of light, the next step will be separation from darkness to
light.People may try to compromise a little with darkness in our
day to day life but the little darkness
becomes great enemy in the lives of the people. If we are to be God pleasers we need to be careful with compromising the activities of darkness.Sooner or later God will at work in our lives will initiate the process of separation in the life of a believer for the maximum glorification of Christ.

Bible account is true as the Big bang explains its theor |
Let your lights be burning |
We are called to be "Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning; And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately.Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them. And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants. And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through.Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not" (Luke 12:35-40).
We owe great love for God.Some areas of life of a believer where we are required to be separated are:
We are called to love our neighbours and also called to be separated when the time requires."The entire law is summed up in a single command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”If you keep on biting and devouring each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other" ( Gal 5:14-15).
Do Not Be Yoked With Unbelievers
Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? |
"Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.”
“Therefore come out from them
and be separate,
says the Lord.
Touch no unclean thing,
and I will receive you.”
“I will be a Father to you,
and you will be my sons and daughters,
says the Lord Almighty.” ( II Cor 6:14-18).
The night is nearly over |
"And do this, understanding the present time. The hour has come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed. The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy. Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the sinful nature"(Rom 13:11-13).
We are light in the Lord |
"For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) and find out what pleases the Lord.Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. But everything exposed by the light becomes visible, for it is light that makes everything visible. This is why it is said:
“Wake up, O sleeper,
rise from the dead,
and Christ will shine on you.”( Eph 5:1-14).
You are all the sons of light |
"You are all sons of the light and sons of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness. So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be alert and self-controlled.For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, get drunk at night. But since we belong to the day, let us be self-controlled, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet. For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him. Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing" ( 1 Thessa 5:5-11).
You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden |
"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven" (Matt 5:14-16).
Dear Reader this Christmas ask God to initiate the process of separation from darkness to light.
Let's pray: "Our Father in heaven! We thank you for letting us hear about that amazing miracle which Jesus performed on the creation separation of light from darkness.May Your Holy Spirit help us also, as your disciples, to be mindful of the spiritual darkness of many people. May the Spirit go before us as we have opportunities to tell others what the Lord has done for us and what He is ready to do for them also.May Your Name be glorified in our lives and in the lives of all who, by grace, may be called out of darkness separated into Your glorious Light. We pray in the precious Name of Jesus Who makes this possible. Amen!
